The Luggable Mainframe

CompHAQ I is an 80’s ‘Luggable’ PC restoration project, but with a modern twist… embedding a supercomputer.

In a glorious attempt to bring back one of computer history’s legends into every-day relevance, original software will be utilized on a 1983 Compaq Portable I to build a retro terminal UI over original hardware, which must be then adapted to communicate with a hidden ~10Ghz/40-core high-performance cluster installed inside the enclosure.

The CompHAQ I‘s destiny is to win RetroChallenge and ClusterFights Nationals in 2019.
